The situation presented is almost Kafkaesque, and may well be one which will leave non-lawyers and lawyers like shaking their heads (in disbelief). But the Board is not some sort of labour relation Solomon which sits ever ready and able to do what makes labour relations common sense. The Board is a statutory tribunal whose powers are described and restricted by the Labour Relations Act, 1995 and the myriad of other legislation under which the Board exercises jurisdiction.
