At the police station [the defendant] was advised that a breath sample was being requested. He replied: "bring it on." The first breathalyzer test recorded a reading of 230 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. When the breathalyzer technician informed [the defendant] of the result of the first test [the defendant] responded by saying: "look at me, you knows I'm tanked." The second test confirmed the accuracy of this comment.
