PODIUM
The Oxford English Dictionary defines “podium” (in the architectural sense) as “a continuous projecting base or pedestal under a building”. Although that is not a legal definition, the [Ontario Municipal] Board finds that it would be at least counterintuitive for a “base” or “pedestal” to be more prominent than what it is supporting.
